JCC Rockland

In all honesty, when shopping around for a new gym, & classes that would fit my schedule, with a close venue -I never in 1 million years expected to find it ALL at the JCC! This gym has it all. From incredibly new updated clean machines, to an impeccable, clean bathroom/locker room. All of the equipment rooms have been updated. I have to give personal shout outs to the following staff members: Marjorie, who has guided me through what classes to take, gave me a tour, despite her broken toe, and followed up with me after each class I took. Thank you for giving me a free pass for the week. I even brought my husband! He loves it as well. He is into weights and cardio and I am a class lover! Another shout out goes to Kathy who taught the Booty/Core workout tonight. Probably the best class I have ever taken in over 30 years. She was methodical, kind, and a great teacher! The work out was amazing. I could not believe the hour was up! I would be remiss if I did not mention Gary in the weights room who checked on clients and always had a smile for you and an encouraging pep talk, lol. Thanks Gary! Thanks to Amanda also for welcoming me when I came in and for wishing me well when I left My husband and I will be joining this facility. I am so excited to get back in shape, and to share this gym with my friends and family.

This center is run by a bunch of schemers. I delivered a very large $600 Costco order to them (WITH NO TIP). They asked me to bring 2 full Costco carts worth of items to the front desk including 10 cases of water, I said I would unload the order to the curb right outside the door and they could pick it up. A nice man came outside with a cart and helped me but then JCC reported the order as undelivered and almost had me fired. All because I wouldn’t make several trips from my car to their front desk after spending 2 hours shopping and delivering this very large order. WITH NO TIP!!!

We were looking to tour the childcare center. Our first appointment was cancelled last minute, and at the second appointment we were made to wait in the lobby for 20 minutes with an infant. The tour itself was good and the facilities seem excellent for kids. When we asked about diversity of kids and staff, the coordinator did not know the stats. Overall, we did not feel welcomed.

JCC is a great facility, there’s a ton of space and it’s never too busy because of the many different work out rooms. Make every workout different from functional spaces to traditional weight lifting. There’s basketball courts, pickle ball courts, and a racquetball court that’s all in addition to the seemingly countless group workout spaces, Pilates, Spinning, trx, rowing and on and on. Lastly each locker room both men and women have a sauna and steam room!!
